Award winners announced
There were celebrations (as well as sore heads) on exhibitor stands at the show today after the winners of the BPA’s annual industry awards were announced at the Majestic Hotel last night.
The prize for best new product for 2016 was scooped by BabyStyle UK Ltd for its new Hybrid Edge pushchair with the judges commenting: “This pushchair has many unique features, its super light weight, incredibly versatile and great value for money.” A full list of BANTA winners can be seen on
the BPA website at www.thebpa.eu
The winners of the BPA’s Concept & Innovation Awards were also announced as Mohammed and Akbar Dedat and Lesley Cartwright Taylor. Mohammed and Akbar’s product won the Concept Award for Baby Throne, a bathing aid for showering babies in homes where no bath is available. The judges thought that this product idea would be particularly popular in countries where traditional baths are rarely fitted into bathrooms these days.
Lesley’s product, which won the Innovation Award, is Kiddierail – a child sized, height adjustable hand rail for adult stair cases to make ascending and descending stair cases safe for young children. The judges were impressed with this innovation, having seen nothing else like it in the industry and believing there to be a real market need. Both of these products can be seen first-hand in Hall H on Stands H8 and H9.
There is still time to visit the show today (Tuesday). The doors are open from 9.00am to 4.00pm.
